Sauk River

Sauk River (Entry by Todd)
(Apr 8th, 2005) Scott and I took a day trip on the Sauk River today. We put in near St. Joseph and paddled upstream to start. It was hard work going through some of the small rapids. We then turned around and headed towards my house. We saw lot's of ducks and geese and I ate my share of bugs. Our canoe handled great and Scott took some great pictures with the camera.

It was 70 degrees out today and it was fun being in th sun and enjoying the outdoors. As we paddled by a local resturant we waved to the people eating lunch and wondered if they wished they could join us on the river.

The river was moving fast and we had to be careful of the trees that threatened to knock us into the river.

Monty came with and had a lot of fun, he commented that he is excited for the trip.
