Big Lake (Entry by Todd)
(Jun 3rd, 2005) Wednesday – We got up and started to paddle out of Montevideo. After about six miles Scotts wrists and shoulder started to hurt so we decided to call it a day and take the rest of the day and Thurdsay off to rest. We got a ride back to Montevideo and camped out at Lagoon Park. We went out to eat at Hunt’s bar and grill and met with Patrick Moore and Butch Haltermann. It was great learning about the issues of the Minnesota river valley and the Hard work CURE has done in an effort to make the public aware. We went back to the park and headed off to dreamland.

Thursday – After sleeping in we headed to Mark Suter’s Center for Health were he treated us each to wonderful massage. We hung out at Java River and ate lunch and played on the internet for a while. I then went out for a bike ride and came across an auction where I people watched for a while and I even bid on a few items. I caught up with Scott and we headed for Star Wars episode three. It was the worst $4.50 we ever spent (small town prices are great). We split a pizza from Jakes and went to bed.

Friday (today) – Today found us attacking the river. We made 21 miles going up stream and across Lac La Parle. We are camped at a great spot and can hear all kinds of insects from our tent. We are meeting my wife Molly and my kids tomorrow and will spend all day Sunday with them, I am excited!!

I am glad our upstream voyage is almost done!!!!!!!!
