Knee Lake (Entry by Todd)
(Aug 15th, 2005) Last night I received a call from Matt and Scott who were on the northeast corner of Knee Lake. They are doing very well but the last 8 days have been overcast and the sun has not been seen at all. Because of this they are very low on power and have been unable to do a journal entry from the trail, but here are some highlights that they have passed on to me:

They have run some crazy rapids and have managed to keep the boat upright. They have been scared at times but have enjoyed the thrill of fast moving water. They plan to take a movie of themselves going down a rapid or two, which we hope to put on the website.

Over the next two days they have 65 miles of whitewater with little opportunity for portaging. They should make good time and are ready for the challenge.

They spent the night at Knee Lake resort (www.kneelake.mb.ca) where they were treated to fresh walleye and had a cold pop. Lizann and Phil were great hosts and if anyone is looking for a premier fishing resort give them a call.

Scott and Matt are on target to reach the bay next monday ( the 22nd). From York Factory they will fly to Gilliam, Manitoba where I will be waiting to drive them back home. We are still working on a place to have a welcome home party, so check back for details.

Scott and Matt send their best wishes to their loved ones and can't wait to share all of their stories with everyone upon their return.

Scott and Matt also wish to thank Wisconsin Pharmacal Company makers of Atwater First-Aid kits. They are glad to know that if a accident happens, they will have the materials needed to take care of it.
