Life after the expedition (Entry by Scott and Todd)
(Sep 10th, 2005) The expedition has been done for over 2 weeks now, and in some ways it feels like the remote landscape of northern Manitoba is a very distant dream. Now the forest of our lives is an urban jungle, with it’s own challenges and excitement. The transition was swift and fierce; there were no traffic jams on the river. Trying to eke out time to work on our slideshow and ‘coming home’ party, send our sponsors thank-you packets, pictures and gear reviews, and plan upcoming speaking engagements is difficult, and yet, when we do find the time, enjoyable as we re-live the memories of the trip. Those memories cause differing emotions the more time passes from actually being on the water. At first, some stories remained untold as we recovered from the difficulties of the trail. Now, more and more, the memories and pictures are recalled fondly.
